After consideration, I’ve decided to come back after a little break from blogging and vlogging. My anxiety medication hit me hard and has had a negative effect on me. Due to this, it has really made me not want to blog or even vlog. I have so much to catch up on and really want to get back out there. Thank you for understanding and letting me take this mini break I needed. But, I really want to get back out there and really step up my game. So many exciting things are happening in my life and I want you guys to go on this amazing journey with me. Let’s do this ♥
September the 25th marks a date that I never thought I’d be doing. It’s the date myself and my boyfriend are going to Venice for 5 nights. I’ve never been away with a partner before and it’s been a good 12 years since I went on a hot holiday. I know it might be 131 days away (not that I’m counting) But I’m already thinking of outfits and what we can do while we are there.
We’re staying just outside of Venice in a 4-star hotel, which is the nicest hotel I’ve ever seen in my life for the price range we’ve got it for. Here in this video, we go into more depth about what we want to do and how we decided to pick Venice.
Anxiety affects many people around the world. Recent research suggests that as many as 1 in 6 young people will experience an anxiety condition at some point in their lives, this means that up to 5 people in your class may be living with anxiety, whether that be OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), social anxiety and shyness, exam stress, worry or panic attacks. It’s something not many people think is a real state of mind. People who don’t have anxiety don’t understand what it’s like to live with it.
My anxiety started when I first went to secondary school. I was so scared to go to a new school, a much bigger school with lots of new people. I woke up on my first feeling sick and not wanting to go to school. Most of my friends were over the moon to go to a new school to meet lots of new friends. I most certainly wasn’t, I wanted to stay in my little school where I was comfortable and not have to go to big school. As they years went on my anxiety started to get worse, it went from not wanting to go places with friends to not wanting to go to my prom. Big points in my life too like my driving lessons. I’d throw up every time I was waiting for my driving instructor. When I was 18 I went to the doctors about my anxiety as it was just unbearable. The doctor gave me some breathing techniques to calm my anxiety down and told me to do Yoga. I tried these techniques out and they just didn’t work. I refused to go back to the doctors again as I just didn’t feel they were interested in the condition and didn’t really take me seriously. As time went on as expected it’s gotten worse. To the point where I can’t go out with my boyfriend to meet his friends as I just work myself up into such a state that I become ill. This video talks about my story about anxiety and how I’m going to try and overcome this horrible condition.
Due to being really ill and then having work I’ve not had the chance to do my blog post on my London visit with my lovely friend Tom, so I’m making the time right now to show you guys what we got up to in the Capital.
Wednesday 20th April: I awoke on this cold yet sunny morning with excitement and a big smile, knowing I was going to spend 3 days in London. My Mum took myself and Tom to the train station as I didn’t want to leave my car in the car park for the 3 days as the parking charges are ridiculous. Boarding the train from Telford to Birmingham at 9:45 we were expected to arrive into London Euston at 12:15. Fast forward to 12:15 and we were in the smog of London. Check in to our Private hostel room wasn’t till 2 so we had a few hours to spare. As we were stopping not far from Canary Wharf we decided to go there and spend a few hours amongst the big cats of London. 2 country boys dressed in casual attire among the suited and booted men and women of Canary Wharf was just so funny to see. Being awake for so long and not having any breakfast apart from a few Haribo sours we had on the train we were ready to have food. We found the coolest place in Canary Wharf called “Big Easy” a very rustic and cool place where the food was beyond amazing. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a coke float, which was amazing and really filled my hunger. It was now time to get check into our room at the Hostel we were staying at in Limehouse. A very small but cosy room in a hostel with our own private bathroom just for £60 each for 2 nights, I mean what more could you ask for really? After a little lie-down and a change of clothes, we were ready to hit the town. We had a booking for Evan’s and Peel. I hear you ask.. what’s Evan’s and Peel? Evan’s Peel is a Detective Agency in London is a speakeasy bar and restaurant in Earls Court that serves up a 1920’s prohibition drinking and eating experience. You have to find the secret entrance to be let in where you will come face to face with the detective. You have to pitch a case beforehand when you book so the detective knows the reason why you have come. After he interrogates you about your case he comes to an understanding of how to keep you safe or whatever it was with your case.
We told him my mom got abducted by aliens and being a YouTuber they were going to come after me. After the case finishes, he opens a bookcase which leads you into a dimly lit room which was a throwback to the 1920’s. Playing in the background was Lady Gaga playing but a swing cover. We sat at our table only to discover it was a desk which I thought was a really nice touch. Everything about this place was just so perfect, I didn’t get any pictures as it was just too dark and I really just wanted to take it all in. We had cocktails which were very nice and our meal that we had been served in tins that they had in the war. After just the one cocktail I was already fighting being jolly as I don’t normally drink but it really was a lovely place and somewhere I definitely want to go again. After a lovely time, we returned back to the hotel for an early night to make sure we were ready for the day ahead tomorrow.
Thursday 21st April: After an awful nights sleep I awoke to the sound of French exchange students running around the corridors of the hostel. After Tom and I got ready we were ready for our fun packed day in London. We decided to walk rather than catching the tube into central London. It did take us nearly an hour to do so but we saw some really cool sights and I don’t think we’d of found the cool little place we went to for breakfast called The Folly. A really quirky place served by really quirky people. It was a stunning atmosphere and really relaxed. The décor of the place was so beautiful and cool. We stopped by for a bacon sandwich and a coffee. After a spot of breakfast we headed back into the smog of London. We had a booking to go up to the Sky Garden at 2:45 and it was still really early on in the day so we decided to be tourists and go see some of the sights around London. Come 2:15 we decided to go queue for our time slot for the Sky Garden. Going through the metal detectors and bag checking took some time so we thought it’d be best to make sure we got there early. A little panic came over me when we all piled into this tiny lift to go over 36 floors. Once at the top it was a stunning and magnificent view. My last London trip I went up the Shard and with the being taller than the Sky Garden it was amazing but the Sky Garden was beautiful. Being amongst nature and a stunning, clear view of London it was just breathtaking. We stopped there for a little refreshment and to take in how stunning the view was.
After a short break here we decided to make our way to the most exciting place in the UK for someone who has grown up with Harry Potter. The Harry Potter studio tour. This is somewhere I’ve wanted to come for a long time. I don’t want to do a run down of what we did here as it would take so long and plus it’s all in the video if you watch that. But I can most certainly say it’s one of the most magical places ever. To see how things were made and put together for each film, to see what the characters wore, to see the sets and special effects. It was all just so perfect. I seriously want to go again as I just got too happy snapper with my camera and didn’t really take it all in (as you’ll see in the video) But it was so good! After a long but magical time, it was time to head back to the room and have some sleep. We were actually shattered from all the walking and excitement.
Friday 22nd April
After another awful nights sleep due to the French exchange students it was time to retreat back home as we had to leave the hostel by 10. We didn’t just want to get the train back home so instead, we took a little de-tour to Oxford street to see what was going on down there. As we had all our bags with us we didn’t really want to lug them everywhere we were going. We took a trip to Oxford street and had a little nosey in all the shops to see if there was anything that took our fancy. By the time, we had a few hours looking around the shops we were both ready to go home.
I had an amazing time doing things I’ve wanted to do in London and finding new places to go to the next time Tom and I go on an adventure down there again. I’m so glad I have a friend like Tom that enjoys the same things as me and is interested in doing the things I enjoy as well as me doing the things he enjoys. Here is the little vlog I did while I was there.. Enjoy!…..
As of tomorrow I’ll be spending 3 days in London with the lovely Tom Kirby, who if you’re a subscriber on my YouTube, you’ll know very well. So as the picture to the left of this text states, we will be going for 3 days and have so much packed in these 3 days. When we get down to London I’d of taken snippets of our journey. We then plan to have some food before checking in to our hotel. We then have a reservation at a really cool and interesting place which I’ll talk more in detail on the video but it looks so cool! Then we may go out on the evening we shall see where the night takes us.
Thursdays antics are as follows. After a night resting we will take to the Sky Garden to enjoy a lovely lunch and the view of London from the beautiful surroundings. I can’t wait to go here, it’s somewhere I wanted to go last time I was in London, however I went to the Shard instead. After fun and frolics in the garden in the sky we will make our journey to the Harry Potter Tour. Where no doubt magic and amazing things are. I’m seriously super excited about this out of everything. It’s where my childhood dreams come a live. I used to write Hogwarts letters to myself. My friend at primary school and I used to play Harry Potter adventures. I even used to share a Harry Potter room with my brother I was that cool. After the magical time there we are undecided whether to go out on the evening but we shall see how tired we are.
Friday is our final day in London and it will be spent taking in the beauty of places like Hyde Park and Camden.
I actually can’t wait to go here and really get stuck in vlogging. But most of all just have an amazing time!
So with Spring in full swing, I thought it was best to have a major Spring Clean on everything. That includes my wardrobe, car, bedroom, social media sites and just within myself. I’ve always gone by the saying tidy surroundings, tidy mind. There is no better way than to get rid of things you don’t wear anymore, cleaning the mess of your bedroom and car to start fresh for the new season. With new starts comes with cutting ties from bad vibes and just negativity and that’s what I plan to do from now on. I want to go through life without thinking negatively or anybody impacting me with their negativity.
With this Spring clean comes organisation also. I talked in one of my YouTube videos about getting a chalkboard and writing down when I am able to do things. In Luke fashion it didn’t happen so I’m determined to get one now and then schedule when I can do things around working. I work full-time and it’s so hard to fit things around as well as see my friends and boyfriend. However, I do have a 2 week holiday from work coming up from the 10th of April so expect a lot of blogging and YouTube videos. I also have lots planned during that holiday like going to Cardiff with my lovely friend Tom. I really can’t wait!
For my wardrobe clear out I’m putting things on Depop, my profile is @lewkeisthename
I have some awesome ideas for videos and photo shoots as well as an image change for myself if I pluck up enough courage to do it! I’m excited for the next few months ahead!
So this weekend was my birthday (March the 19th) here is what I got up to for my birthday…
So on Friday evening my boyfriend, Tom came over for my birthday weekend extravaganza. We went to Manchester on my actual birthday and spent a lot of money on clothes we probably didn’t need. Arguing over who gets what and Tom even buying a few things I already had! I’m going to do a haul video on my weekend off to showcase what I’ve purchased and my birthday present I got also. On the evening of my birthday, Tom myself and my siblings went out for a lovely meal. It really was lovely as it’s something my siblings and I have never done together.
So it’s been a while since I last did a haul showcase. With Christmas you don’t really get much to spend on yourself but that’s the beauty of January. December is all about giving and making other people feel special. January is all about the sales and spending that extra on yourself. I thought I had purchased a lot more than what I had in this video but clearly not. However the pieces I’ve purchased I really love.
I’ve also not really wrote about meeting a guy. So I will do so now. I’ve met a guy, his name is Tom and we’ve been seeing each other for a while now. He’s seriously made me smile from date one back in the beginning of December, meeting half way in Cannock in a little restaurant was the first among many dates, many smiles and many butterflies. Our second date consisted of us meeting in Cannock again for a walk in Cannock Chase (Massive woodland) We sat upon a log for hours under my umbrella shielding us from the torrential rain that was coming down. We talked about random things and this was where I felt so much closer to him and instantly I knew I was going to fall for him. We then went for food and talked even more. I just couldn’t wait to see him again. Our 3rd date consisted of a hotel stay and my gosh was it amazing. Food and more talking it was just the perfect 3rd date.
So it’s 2016 and I want to really take my fashion blogging and YouTube more seriously. So from now on I vow to write at least 2-4 blog posts a week and 1 video on YouTube.
I talk about it in this video as well as what I got up to on New Year and a very special announcement ♥
