So with just 80 days till Ellen and I are off to Fuerteventura and so the clothes buying frenzy has begun. Walking around the shops this evening after a long day at work I could of easily of purchased at least 20 items there and then. But for me, it’s all about planning outfits before I got than just buying for the sake of buying. I’m going for 7 days and there will be at least 7-14 outfits planned in my head. Day outfits and Evening outfits. The hotel we are going too has a strict dress code that the men also have to wear trousers to dinner. So I have to take this into consideration. Out of dinner, the men can wear whatever they want and that’s what I plan to do. I’ve recently purchased some swimming shorts and a gorgeous two piece outfit from ASOS. Which are going to be two of the many outfits I shall be sporting on my holiday. I have my eyes on so many beautiful pieces from ASOS and surprisingly Primark also! The closer it gets the more excited I’m getting. I need to hit the gym more and make sure I’m holiday ready and not like last time where it was a major rush to try and get a holiday body for my other holiday!
So it’s been a while since I did a proper fashion related blog post/ video. With trying to save to move out and saving for my big holiday in July it’s been tough with money. With that and going to the gym and getting all those gains my clothes are slowly dwindling with what fits me. I purchased this Yellow Topman jacket at least 2 years ago in the sale. I never thought it suited me when I had my naturally light hair. Dye my hair dark brown and 2 years later I’ve fallen in love with the jacket. The yellow is such a contrast to anything you wear with it, it’s a vibrant yellow that just makes me so happy when I put it on. Thank god I got a small instead of an X-Small as this jacket would be on the pile of selling too. It’s starting to get a little tight but for the moment I will just wear it all the time. The top underneath is also another top I purchased last year but it being Primark the sizing of it was just too big. Fast forward one year and all those gym gains have started to help. It now nearly fits properly and it doesn’t hang off me like it used to do. The ASOS jean, on the other hand, is coming to it’s final wearing. There’s only so much jumping around a room to try and get these jeans over your bum you can do. They are an amazing Jean and so comfortable to wear. It will look like I shall be scouring ASOS for some more jeans soon. Finally, the Marks and Spencer’s kids trainers that have lasted me oh so well. Spring is such a lovely time to enjoy the countryside and I for one love that I live somewhere I can go explore and lose myself in.

Valentines for me has always been a little tedious. You shouldn’t have to show how much you love someone with just one day, it should be a year round gesture. However, I used to love making handmade cards and making sure my loved one got something they wanted. This year has made me realise, being single on Valentines day it’s just another day just to spend a lot of money for no other reason to show that you “care”. For people that are single, it’s just a reminder that we are single. But if like me, it doesn’t get the best of you. Just think of all that half price chocolate after Valentines!
So I decided to do a video going towards Anti-Valentines. For anyone that has recently come out of a relationship or has been single for a long time. Don’t forget your worth. You are loved and you are amazing! At the end of the day it’s “Your Loss Babe” With a mixture of fun slogan t-shirts and embroidered shirts, this fun anti-valentine lookbook was so much fun to do, as you can clearly see from the photos and lookbook video.
So the pyjama styling has been around now for nearly a year. But I’ve recently fallen so deeply in love with it. That fact a lot of places are now including it in their Spring and Summer collections is making me so happy. With the likes of ASOS, River Island, and Marks and Spencer’s all following this trend into Spring and Summer. The outfit I’m wearing is currently in the sale at Dorothy Perkins. I found the trousers which I instantly fell in love with, I’m someone who’s always into Cigarette trousers or skinny jeans. So to wear a wide leg in the style of a pyjama was something new to me, I wasn’t sure whether it would look right on me as I’m skinny. However, I decided to buy them there and then! £12 for the trousers. Bargain! I then found a similar style shirt on ASOS that looked perfect. However, when it arrived, the colouring was way off compared to the trousers. Instead of white pipping it was like a beige colour pipping, so I sent it back. I then needed a shirt that matched the trousers. So I typed into google, pyjama style pipped shirt and low and behold the shirt to match the trousers was on Dorothy Perkins. Size 12 which is what I have to get in women’s as I’m broad shouldered for £7! Another bargain.
When Styling I wanted to keep it simple and something I could wear in all seasons. However it’s winter here so adding a roll neck underneath was needed. I added my ribbed white roll neck from Topman and I really loved that it added just that extra look to the outfit. Throw on my much loved fedora hat and my M&S trainers and I was away. I really love this outfit and it has been one of the comfiest outfits in my wardrobe to date. Check out my video:
Say Hello to the brown haired Luke!
With trends at the moment weaving in and out of the 90’s, I styled myself in something that resembles that of the 90’s. Sporty Luxe. A trend where you mix sporty items with clothing that looks high end, giving you the sporty luxe trend. Teaming a sporty looking jumper with a ribbed roll neck underneath gives you that extra layer for those colder days. Adding a pair of wool joggers to give you that laid back relaxed athletic vibe. While adding a pair of white socks and white trainers to finish off the sporty look.
This has to be one of my favourite looks right now, adding my light grey duster jacket over the top of the outfit makes it look very on trend at the moment. I love how easy yet stylish the outfit is.
All items are now in the sale so go find a bargain!
Christmas is just 4 days away and I thought it was appropriate that I did a Christmas video. With that in mind I wanted it to be fun as I hadn’t been feeling the Christmas spirit. When I woke up on the Sunday I was doing my video I had instantly felt the Christmas spirit and wanted to do something to do with Christmas. I looked over to my rail of clothes, that is ever expanding and saw I had at least 5 or 6 Christmas jumpers. So this video is a fun video showing off my Christmas jumpers and is just a little bit silly. Whenever I see a Christmas or fair isle jumper I feel inclined to buy them as I just really love them. I’m not one for overly novelty Christmas jumpers. I’m all about being chic at Christmas. I hope this video brings a smile to your face…..
So while I was Christmas shopping for other people I stumbled amongst the bargain section of Primark. This bomber jacket was sitting there, down from £25 to £10. I couldn’t miss getting this amazing bargain and I most certainly didn’t care that it was a women’s bomber jacket either. Don’t roll your eyes at me either, we all know it happens. When you’re out with a list buying for other people for Christmas and you come across something so amazing that you have to buy it for yourself. Just call it a secret Santa present that you’re not sure who purchased it for you. Just never look at your bank statement and everything will be fine and dandy.
This bomber jacket is so diverse and will go with anything. One side you have the black embroidered flowers and motif on the back. Turn it inside out and you have a red and black bomber jacket for the price of one jacket. I mean it can’t get more amazing than that. For me though I really enjoy the black embroidered side. I love anything that has a little bit of embroidery on it. Whether it’s flowers, a slogan or just a motif. I’m a sucker for it, hence why I had to get this bomber jacket. It terms of wearability it can be worn very casual or smart. I wore it on a night out with a pair of high-waisted trousers and a white shirt and it really did look really smart. That was the black side of it though. In my video down below you can also see the red. I stupidly didn’t take any photos in the red. The red side is a beautiful colour and really gives off that American baseball kind of jacket but in terms of wearing it formally you just couldn’t get away with it like the black. It’s a really diverse jacket and I’m so glad I was Christmas shopping for other people and snapped up this bargain as I know if I had left it any longer that they most certainly wouldn’t have any left!
Velvet is a big trend this season. With everything from velvet suits to velvet dresses. Everything has been velveted, even shoes. I don’t normally jump on with the trends but this one I just had to. Velvet is something I’ve always loved. I love the feel and how sophisticated it looks. In this little OOTD, I wanted to showcase two looks, to show how versatile velvet is. I wanted to showcase a look that was smart enough to fir for a going out look or party wear and then I wanted to showcase a look that was casual and very laid back.
The Smart Edit: I really enjoy dressing up smart, even for everyday things. But I love it more when I have somewhere nice to go. This outfit was the outfit I wore to a Christmas meal with work. The velvet bomber, from Primark, took all focus and everyone loved it. Dress it up with a crisp white shirt and bow tie accessory to add a little bit of drama. A bow tie smartens any outfit up or if you’re feeling adventurous get a piece of ribbon and make a big bow tie ribbon which creates a big statement. Add a pair of high waisted trousers or a smart pair of trousers to smarten the look up. I have ASOS high waisted tapered trousers on which I love so much. Rolled up a little at the bottom and my socks pulled up, as we don’t want to get cold ankles. Then finish the look off with a smart pair of shoes to tie the whole look together.
The Casual Edit: With this bomber jacket it’s so versatile that one minute it can look smart and perfect for that party look. But it also can go to being very casual and almost lounge wear. For my casual look, I teamed it up with my dungarees from Topshop, as nothing says comfortable and casual than a denim dungaree. Underneath my denim dungaree, I played it down with a plain white turtle neck t-shirt as the velvet bomber already does much of the talking so playing it subtle with a plain white tee is probably safer than anything else. To finish the look off I added my plain white trainers from M&S kids section. to give it a laid back approach.
So party season is upon us once more, which means the party outfits are out in force. I don’t really tend to follow trends, I just buy things that I love and mix it up with things I already own to give a classic yet trendy kind of style.
This year is no exception, I’ve put together a little video of my favourite looks that I have pulled out of my wardrobe. I’ve also taken a few photographs to break down the looks and showcase each look differently.
Outfit 1: Faux Fur Frenzy: Faux Fur Frenzy: While shopping on Asos one morning I stumbled across this faux fur stole which I thought just looked incredible and I instantly thought of how many outfits I could put with this accessory. Instantly my mind went to my black thrifted oversized blazer. Teaming the blazer up with a plain white shirt underneath also from Asos. Along with my peg tapered trousers also from ASOS. My shoes are from eBay and are very similar to a creeper style shoe. The stole has popper buttons to snap the stole together at the bottom like shown on my picture or you can just wear it loose and have it around a collar to show off your outfit a little more. As well as this colour they also have a black version to this which I shall link below with the one I’m wearing also. This outfit is a perfect outfit for an elegant night out or even just a formal dinner. One of my favourite dressed up outfits from the lookbook video I have done.
Outfit 2: Pastel: So some of you might of already seen some of my outfit from this particular outfit showcase. The suit I’m wearing is also the suit I wore to a wedding I attended this year ( The Wedding post) It’s a super skinny grey formal suit from ASOS. They have similar suits in different colours that are nearly the same. It’s a very tight-fitting, almost so tight it can just about get over my feet when I put the trousers on! Teaming this suit up with a pastel pink mini roll neck just gives it a different look instead of wearing a shirt underneath, and with it being cold it’s the perfect alternative to a shirt. My shoes, white monk strap shoes, are also from Asos but they no longer do these shoes anymore.
This outfit is perfect for a more formal setting that wearing a suit is more appropriate.
Outfit 3: Souvenir Jacket: So this year souvenir jackets has become a big thing. A jacket with an embroidered photograph on the back or the front have been deemed very popular among the fashion world which we will also see continuing into Spring and Summer 2017. The jacket I’m wearing is from Primark which only cost me £8, it is a women’s jacket, however I don’t really think you can tell. Even if it does have flowers on it as many of the men’s jackets also now have flowers which have been embroidered onto the jacket. Teaming this jacket with a formal penny collar shirt from Asos and a pair of pink trousers from Asos to bring the pink out of the jacket. As you all know I love a good bow and this one I made myself to give the outfit something a little different. My shoes are the shoes seen in the previous outfit which are from Asos.
Outfit 4: Tartan Take-down: I’m a big fan of Tartan and what a great time to wear it too, this close to Christmas. Topman always have an amazing selection of Tartan trousers or chinos. The super skinny chino type trouser I’m wearing in this outfit are in fact from Topman. Teaming it up with my collarless camel coat from Asos, that I adore. It comes out every single time there is a chill in the air. Camel will always be a colour that I deem very sophisticated and elegant. It’s a perfect addition to this outfit. Teaming all of this with a dark camel roll neck may seem a little weird but it actually seems to go so well. Then finally adding a Chelsea boot from New Look, just makes the outfit whole. This outfit is perfect for any occasion.
Check out my YouTube video that I showcase each and every outfit out:
I’ve always been a big fan of Halloween. There’s nothing more I love to do than dress up and showcase my creativity. Year after year I’ve done many photoshoots with my siblings dressing them up in various costumes and taking them to various locations. But the last 2 years running I’ve to showcase my creativity by combining my love of Halloween and my love of fashion to create a fashion forward Halloween costumes. Last year I took it upon myself to make a Maleficent costume and do my own little photo shoot and video for my YouTube. It was the hardest photoshoot I’ve ever done as I was on my own. Trying to set the camera up for self-timer and not having a remote to set my camera off was so hard. I have many shots of me running away from the camera looking back with a weird look on my face. But after many attempts, I finally got the photograph which made my Maleficent shoot. To the left is my Maleficent favourite photograph and here is the link to my YouTube video featuring this look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCkXY27dwbA
This year I decided to go a little more subtle with the photography and just do something along the lines of Gothic Chic. The Wide Brim Fedora is a staple piece in my wardrobe. I always with every outfit check to see if it goes. 9 times out of 10 it does but I always feel I’d over do an outfit if I wear it. I purchased Superdrug’s Spray Hair Chalk in the colour of silver for my hair. It didn’t work the best and it flakes a lot so that didn’t work too well. My bat bow tie was purchased from ASOS and I added the two bits of ribbon coming from it. My blazer is thrifted from a charity shop, which you’ve most likely seen in my other outfit showcases and the shirt was also from ASOS. See, I can’t even put a Halloween look together without using ASOS. This look also features a carved pumpkin by my fabulous mother. Here is the photograph of my Gothic Chic look….
